SHARZ.NET GENERAL COORDINATOR AYŞE ECE ŞENGÖNÜL
Sharz.net, one of the companies with the widest coverage in Turkey with 461 charging stations, has announced its efforts for new investments that will boost the electric vehicle market in the country. Ayşe Ece Şengönül, the General Coordinator of Sharz.net, stated that they installed their first charging stations in September 2018 and have now reached widespread coverage. She announced, "By the end of 2023, we plan to invest 40 million TL to reach 1000 stations in our country. Our goal is to be present in all 81 provinces and to lead the way in reducing nationwide CO2 emissions by popularizing the use of electric cars." Sharz.net, which provides software and hardware infrastructure to a car brand and an energy company that ventures to obtain a charging network license in our country and has one of Turkey's most extensive charging networks with 461 charging points, continues its investments. Sharz.net, which installed its first charging station four years ago and has invested 20 million TL to date, announced that they will improve their station infrastructure and networks. Ece Şengönül, the General Coordinator of Sharz.net, stated, "There is still much progress to be made in electric vehicles in our country, and we are working diligently to make Turkey one of the leading countries in this market globally. Today, we have decided to invest 40 million TL to increase our current number of 461 charging stations to 1000 by the end of 2023. Out of the additional 600 stations to be installed, 50 will be DC, meaning fast-charging stations." She added, "By 2030, the number of stations will reach 20,000." Pointing out that there are currently 20,000 public charging stations in the UK, Şengönül said, "In our country, this number is currently around 4,000 on average, and Sharz.net constitutes 10% of it. By 2030, our number of stations will reach a minimum of 20,000. However, the most important issue is to utilize our natural resources to eliminate dependency on external sources for electricity production and to generate our own electricity, as the number of electric vehicles increases, electricity consumption will also increase, and new sources are needed now."
