Ayşe Ece Şengönül, General Coordinator of Sharz.net, stated, "While a personal vehicle travels an average of 10,000-15,000 kilometers per year, commercial vehicles cover 30,000-40,000 kilometers annually. Particularly, light commercial vehicles, taxis, buses, and company cars circulating within cities are significant contributors to air pollution. Additionally, although these vehicles do not cover much distance within the city, they continuously emit CO2 into the air from their running engines while waiting in heavy traffic. Transitioning these high fuel-consuming vehicles to electric will provide cost savings for companies and eliminate air and noise pollution within cities."
Regarding this ongoing transformation, Şengönül commented, "Considering all these factors, we anticipate a significant increase in the transition to electric vehicles both for individual and company/fleet rental vehicles in the next 6-7 years. While it is expected that by 2030 there will be 1 million electric vehicles on the roads in Turkey, we forecast that 55% of this number will consist of commercial vehicles. Therefore, the charging station infrastructure needs to be designed accordingly. This transformation will also require software that calculates energy consumption efficiency. Furthermore, management software that can impose electricity consumption restrictions based on company personnel and regional travel restrictions will be needed. Sharz.net shares its experience in this area with its electric vehicle fleet company clients. Additionally, electric vehicle fleets will be able to expand their travel areas by using thousands of stations available under the Charging Club, which can be accessed through Sharz.net stations and more than 20 separate charging network operators."
